Meet Our Founder
Community Comadres was founded by Priscilla Ornelas, host on 104.7 Kiss Fm & Mix 96.9 FM and a dedicated community leader. As a first-generation Mexican American born and raised in Glendale, Arizona, Priscilla has always felt called to serve her community and connect with like-minded women. Growing up, she didn’t always have a strong community of women to turn to—one that emphasized that every contribution, no matter how big or small, was meaningful. At times, she found herself unsure of where she fit in or if she had enough resources or accolades to make a real impact. But she knew she wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Many women shared that same desire to give back but hadn’t yet realized that their voices, efforts, and presence were valuable just as they were. With that understanding, Community Comadres was born. More than just an organization, it is a welcoming space that provides volunteer opportunities, resources, advocacy, and a sense of belonging for women across the valley. It is a place where women can uplift one another, build connections, and contribute to their communities—knowing that their efforts matter, no matter their background or experience.
